Last January 12, 2020, Taal Volcano, located at San Nicolas-Batangas, after 42 years of being inactive, erupted once again.
January 12, Sunday afternoon, Taal Volcano started spewing ashes that made the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) raised its alert level status to level two.
Few hours later, PHIVOLCS raised again the alert status level into 4 due to the ashes and rocks fragments that reached 10-15 kilometer high.
Residents living near the volcano, including the tourists, were urged to evacuate immediately, and not to hesitate leaving their homes.
According to PHIVOLCS, Taal Volcano’s last eruption was recorded on October 1977. As a result, millions of property was affected which leads to a huge damage for the residents who were living near the said volcano.
